It is also a dynamic process that consists of continuous selection from those resources (text as part of a communicative event) where choices at one stage affect choices that follow. _ Language as Function Following Halliday (1978, 1994), I will recognize that language resources are organized along the lines of three general functions.
Halliday (1978) comments: On the one hand, "function" refers to the social meaning of speech acts, in contexts of language use; on the other hand, it refers to components of meaning in the language system, determining the internal organization of the system itself.
